Purchase of Catcott Meadow

This project involves the purchase of two fields (11.76 acres) of SSSI floodplain grazing marsh in the heart of an existing Wildlife Trust land holding in Somerset Levels and Moors – an area of international importance for breeding waders and overwintering waders and wildfowl (and freshwater invertebrates).
We need to purchase the site in order to guarantee the conservation of the considerable current biodiversity interest and help to deliver water onto our current other land holdings in summer through appropriate ditch management of the potential purchase site.
