Purchase of mower for cricket pitches on public sports ground

Evesham Cricket Club has the only cricket pitches available for public use in Evesham. The ground with its two pitches is used intensively by Evesham Cricket Club, by smaller clubs and teams who use the pitches, by schools, by county youth teams, and especially for coaching of Youth Cricket where the Club has ECB Focus Club status with a mission to provide cricket coaching to boys and girls, and to all schools, in the Vale of Evesham. Maintenance of the cricket pitches requires intensive use of a mower, our only mower breaks down regularly, the Club has only one mower and no reserve. The project is to buy a new mower, while retaining and keeping going the existing mower as a reserve, to enable the Club to continue to meet the requirments of the community in a sustainable and environmentally-friendly way. As part of the project, it is also proposed to carry out some environmental enhancement by planting two Worcester Black pear trees (with a plaque acknowledging the support of LCF for the project).
