Quarry Bank Community Men’s Shed

Develop a Men’s Shed project to offer a community facility, resources and sharing of tools, enabling people (both men and women), of all abilities to work on projects where skill sharing, informal learning, social interaction, community connections, purpose of achievement and individual pursuits are supported and encouraged. Reclamation and re-use of materials will be encouraged in activities including woodwork, bike recycling, welding, furniture renovation, mechanics and metalwork. The project will be sustainable through product sales and commissions for work, with the profits used to replace raw materials and equipment. The men’s shed project and community food growing areas will compliment and support the sustainability of each other through the development of increased opportunities, product / produce sales and increased activities available to the local community.
Purchase and install two shipping containers to create the men’s shed space at Quarry Bank Community Centre.
