Quarry Bank Open Gardens, Skelmersdale – Pond Restoration (50116/D)

The project aims to bring the community garden back into a pleasurable haven for the local community. The pond is in a poor state at present and needs to be repaired to make it safe and appealing to local schools and young people’s clubs for educational purposes. For all other costs we will try to make them minimal and hopefully source some for free. We have had the offer of free plants from a local gardening club. To make the gardens attractive we would like to fence the perimeter of the gardens and fence off and make safe the pond area, replace damaged materials for the pond lining, pumps and other repairs to the pond itself and 4 benches. The Trust grant will contribute towards the pond and garden improvements.
