Quarry Lane Local Nature Reserve, Mansfield - Upper Maun Project (40147/D)

The project aim is enhanced community engagement and education through improvements to existing pond dipping platforms and scrapes/ponds, making them accessible to all. Appoint a contractor to excavate the scrape/pond to increase the depth of the pond. This will attract a greater variety of wildlife to the area and improve the conditions for water voles. Extend the dipping platforms to enable more children to access the pond dipping area. Create a meandering path leading to the scrape which is accessible to a wider proportion of the community, particularly the disadvantaged. The Trust grant will contribute towards the footpath creation.
