Quorn Goods Yard Enhancement – Interim Phase

The project will demonstrate what a rural railway goods yard of the steam era was used for and how it contributed to the local community. The project will consist of the refurbishment or re-building of coal staithes, a cattle dock, and an original Great Central Railway storage shed. New signs will increase the level of enjoyment and interest provided by a visit to the Great Central Railway by explaining what the particular element did, how it was used, the role that this played in the local economy and the contribution it made to local communities.
