Railside Community Garden

We have successfully established a community garden on a plot of vacant land owned by Network Rail, who have granted us a six year lease and are now in our second year of growing vegetables for the local community and food banks. We now wish to expand our growing areas, improve our infrastructure and facilities and develop as a focus for community activities. This will include planting fruit trees in part of the garden, using the space in the archway beneath Gleneldon Road as a community workshop, studio, exercise area and meetings venue and hosting events such as our annual art trail and street parties. We also wish to reach out to local schools and care homes to offer the garden as a place of study and relaxation.
