Rainbow Garden at D&G Canine Rescue Centre, Glencaple

D & G Canine Rescue Centre at Dovecotewell, Glencaple has been established for 10 years. The site is owned by Caelaverock Estate and had been leased to D & G Canine Rescue Centre on a 25 year lease with an option to renew for a further 25 years.
The centre is a place that houses unwanted dogs and helps to find them new responsible owners. The centre can be visited between 12am to 4pm every day.

The centre has inherited a memorial wall on a formal lawned area of land. The site is waterlogged and the soil is too poor to allow planting. This project will drain the area and import topsoil and plant trees and shrubs that will attract birds. Benches, a pergola and a summerhouse will complete the garden. It is intended to create a colourful, tranquil garden space where members of the general public are able to sit and enjoy thinking about their friends human and animal.
