Rainworth Heath Restoration

Rainworth Heath SSI is one of the few remaining relics of lowland heathland in the county, and includes the only surviving example of wet heath in Nottinghamshire.
Unfortunately Rainworth Heath suffers damage from motor-bikers who access the site illegally and drive on the delicate heathland.

To combat inappropriate use and rejuvenate the heathland habitat Nottinghamshire Wildlife Trust will
Add a ditch and barrier.
Erect stock fencing in final compartment for conservation grazing.
Control of Ragwort.
Waste clearance and community engagement.
