Raleigh Hall Development

The project will develop the current Black Cultural Archives (BCA) into a new cultural and heritage centre at Raleigh Hall, a Grade II listed building in the heart of Brixton. It will use BCA's extensive collections of ephemera, documents and photographs, together with interactive and 'living history' elements such as oral and video testimony in permanent exhibitions to tell the story of the black presence in Britain with a focus on the post 1945 period. Temporary galleries will offer additional opportunities for community curated projects and hosting of relevant touring exhibitions. We will also provide BS5454 compliant accomodation for our growing archive and provide access to our collections via a library and reading room.
