Rawtenstall - Whitaker Park Junior Play Area

The project aims to create a new, outdoor, junior play area within Whitaker Park. Funding will contribute to the purchase and installation of new play equipment and surfacing. The applicants intend for the multi play/ adventure climbing frame to be accessible to all abilities as much as possible, with interesting features at lower levels. The embankment slide will have sides up and the access point will be made easily accessible (rather than steep steps). Each piece of equipment will be surfaced with paths between to make it easier to access, and all ramped areas will be DDA compliant as far as possible to ensure that people with mobility issues, wheelchairs, and families with prams can negotiate the area safely.
