Re-surfacing Ramp to Enable Wheelchair Access

Access from ground level to first floor level at the fort is via steps or a loose, coarse gravel finished ramp. This prevents people in wheelchairs and those with children’s buggies and prams reaching the museums, tearoom, and other areas of interest. Re-surfacing the ramp with a smooth non-slip layer such as tarmac/ stone or resin/ stone will permit access for these people and also make it easier and safer for the elderly.
