Projects / Recreation Enhancement along the River Bollin

Recreation Enhancement along the River Bollin

To completely re-vamp a section of the Bollin Valley Way to enable continued enjoyment of this countryside area by schools and youth groups, community groups, walkers, runners and access groups. The work will prevent further deterioration of the pathway, due to land slippage and improve surrounding area through removal of non-native invasive species. The pathway will be made more accessible to path users of all abilities by installing steps on a steep slope area. This section of the Bollin Valley Way forms an important link between the rural villages of Dunham, Little Bollington and Bowdon with their local hostelry businesses and is an important wildlife habitat. There is an historic Motte and Bailey near by which is of national interest.
