Reedbed restoration at RSPB Minsmere nature reserve

Management of reedbed (a UK BAP habitat) at Minsmere is vital for the survival and increase of the birds, mammals and flora that live here. Bittern, water vole, water shrew and otter are four species found on the reserve and identified under the UK and Local Biodiversity Action Plans. The provision of appropriate habitat ie reedbed is crucial to the survival of these species on the Suffolk coast. This project is about why and how we manage this key habitat.
