Reedbed Restoration at Saltholme

To restore reedbed habitat through the creation of a 19 hectare reedbed, forming part of a buffer zone for an exisiting site, (designated as a SPA and RAMSAR site)

This will form part of a larger project which will represent the largest example of reedbed habitat in the North East (and in turn will benefit the UK BAP for Bittern).

The aim is that the newly created reedbed would reach SSSI / SPA standard within 10 years.
