Projects / Refurbish clubhouse function room

Refurbish clubhouse function room

The building is nearly 100 years old, and the 1929 Suite requires some attention to make it more appealing to users. Grant funding
will allow the applicant to replace tongue and groove ceilings and install new lighting and plug sockets, remove and
replace existing flooring with new vinyl flooring, refurbish the dance floor, install new doors, replace heating
pipework and radiators, and widen the existing doorway to create a new and accessible reception area and two
new toilets.

Although home to three sporting clubs who use the facilities in the evenings and at weekends for games, the 1929 suite is used by three probus groups (clubs for retired or semi-retired people from all walks of life), a sugar crafting group, flower club and by a company who delivers speed awareness courses three times each week, providing a regular income. The organisation hosts regular social events, a monthly disco for those with special needs. The site is very popular for weddings, christenings, and wakes. Heslam Park is home
