Refurbished Meeting Room at St Mary’s Parish Centre, Bodmin

The Parish Centre comprises three meeting rooms, three toilets, and a large kitchen. The meeting room which is the focus of this project was built as a conservatory – a pleasant place to sit overlooking the large gardens but has now deteriorated. It leaks and is cold and damp. Black mould makes the room smell and the floor can become slippery due to water ingress. This project will refurbish the room to bring it back into regular comfortable use. Specifically, replacement of wooden windows, replace roof glass, insulate, plaster, and redecorate including new lighting. The blockwork is being increased to reduce the size of the openings and amount of glass which will be more energy efficient and make the room feel more enclosed and private. There has already been interest in hiring of the conservatory once refurbished. The room could be used as a standalone space for small meetings and as an area adjacent to the main meeting room as a break out/refreshment area.
