Refurbishment and Reinstallation of Lye Clock to Lye High Street, Dudley MBC

Lye Clock was designed in the late 1980s by Dudley Council Borough Artist as part of a public open space/pocket park which was a popular space for the people of Lye. The site had to be cleared due to a change in land ownership in 2014 and the clock was put into storage. This project will first refurbish the clock which was slightly damaged when initially moved and further damage by being in storage for five years. Guided by public consultation to identify a suitable new location for the clock, several sites were identified and a prominent location at the entrance to Lye High Street was chosen. Restoring and re-siting this much-loved clock will bring a sense of pride and identity to the local community.
