Refurbishment of Gym and Annex Area of Coatham Memorial Hall

This is a project to refurbish the annex at Coatham Memorial Hall in Redcar. The works entail refurbishment of the roof, replacement of windows, re-establishment of toilet, and upgrading of the electrics.

The annex is used by Redcar Boxing Club and a variety of other community groups, including Knock Out Depression, Breath Well Group, Dementia Dancing, Redcar Rock and Roll Revival, Soul Train, Wrestling, Grenfell Club, Inspire Dance School and others.

The roof will be replaced with an improved, insulating material; the windows refitted; and exit doors restored; and the toilet space brought back into use. Lighting and electricals will be upgraded using improved materials to provide better insulation, efficiency and a more pleasing aesthetic.

Redcar Boxing Club has used Coatham Hall as its base for over 25 years. Currently, 3500 individuals access the facility on a regular basis, taking into account the community groups including COPD, Dementia, Mental Health, Learning Disabilities, music evenings, dance classes for adults and dance schools for children, as well as events such as private functions and family celebrations such as weddings and christenings. It is a low-cost venue whose “members” frequently express their appreciation and understand how difficult it is for businesses and charities to function, so help is always greatly appreciated in achieving our goals.
