Projects / Refurbishment of Multi Use Games Area

Refurbishment of Multi Use Games Area

Since the centre was built in 1988, the hardcourt has been the mainstay of our sporting provision to the community, it now is old, dangerous when wet, shabby and uninviting to potential users.
The cinder block walls are cracking and the fencing no longer contains errant balls due to saggy areas at either end.
The aim of the project is to provide a multi use games area facility that can offer to all ages within the community a safe and affordable area for a variety of sporting and recreational activities.
Continuing relationships with local sports development team, schools, sports clubs and community wardens will assist in developing coaching and training programmes in an area that is safe and appealing to users.
Clubs will be encouraged to contribute to the management of the facility by the formation of a sub-committee elected from group users, but accountable to the general committtee.
