Refurbishment of Tonbridge Memorial Gardens

To refurbish the Memorial Gardens enabling safe access for all and general enhancement to promote this important space as a pleasant haven of peace and tranquillity for all in the centre of town. The gardens are open 24 hours a day 365 days of the year and have been in existence for 60 years. High quality refurbishments are required to maintain the gardens in perpetuity so that they can continue to be utilised by the whole community all year round. The important areas of the garden are deteriorating in condition (paving and lack of trees and plants), restricted disabled access due to change in levels and surfaces and lack of visual interest and dominance of adjoining uses and surrounding areas. The redesign will improve all these aspects making the gardens a haven like place of peace and tranquillity like no other area in the centre of town.
