Regeneration of sensory/memorial garden in John Whitehead Park Billingham

The project aims to benefit all users of the Park, with particular emphasis on the visually impaired. By removing existing overgrown shrubs and crown lifting mature trees surrounding the sensory garden we will create an area that is a friendly and inviting place to rest, relax and enjoy the park. The plan enclosed shows how we will build new raised beds that will allow disabled users the opportunity to smell and touch the carefully selected sensory planting. New bright surfacing will help visually impaired users to find their way around the site. New seating will be provided and a water feature designed by local children is to be situated within the sensory garden area.
