Reinstatement of a putting green on Prestwick Promenade for the benefit of the community

Re-instating a public putting green is consistent with Ayrshire’s vision for the future and will deliver a much needed benefit to the community, enhance civic pride, and support and develop sporting and leisure opportunities..
A putting green is needed by Prestwick to benefit the community socially, recreationally and economically, by providing an enjoyable activity for both visitors and locals drawing visitors to the promenade and beach area. Putting Plus will engage with the community by appointing a Community Champion to maximise these benefits by organising competitions, social events, and coaching. Having lost four putting greens this is a project for the long-term to enable people of all ages to enjoy themselves in a healthy competitive outdoor sport. A permanent addition for the home of Open Golf and a seaside town after a lapse of 10 years.
