REMEDIAL WORKS:PREVENTION OF EROSION,WEST STREET and CHRISTIE PLACE Phase 6

Two recent large spates have caused significant damage to the banks of the burn and the need for felling a number of trees. We wish to carry out work on the banks to prevent or ameliorate possible future erosion.
West St. Rock armour and backfilling will be placed along the north bank to reduce the gradient. There is a section of the burn where the drop needs to be reduced and a weir has to be underpinned.
Christie Place. The channel has to be straightened in this area and similar work as described above carried out.
We believe that these works, if carried out soon, will prevent further damage and save money.
Ongoing inspection of trees and removal of dead and dangerous trees.
