Renovation of Tennis Courts

The Hambleden Sports & Social Club (the “Club) is a thriving village club. It has three all-weather asphalt tennis courts which were constructed over 40 years ago. An independent structural survey has confirmed that the courts’ condition has deteriorated not only at the playing surface, but extending to the sub-base. The Club would like to deal with the problem and reconstruct the
tennis courts so they do not deteriorate to the point of total disrepair. Ideally all three courts need total reconstruction costing approx £130,000 (including VAT). Despite building a reserve fund over many years of just over £60,000, the scope of work is financially unaffordable for the Club.
The Club recognises that the work needs to be done soon to avoid further deterioration and will be embarking on an alternative scope of work that will cost less (approx £94,000 incl VAT). The outcome will provide 3 good playing courts for the next 10-15 years.
