Repair and Interpretation of Berkeley Churchyard’s Table Tombs

There are 96 grade II listed table tombs in Berkeley churchyard, many of which are in need of repair work to save them. Many are fenced off for safety. The churchyard could, if repaired, provided with signage, be an important walking route for Castle visitors to reach the town and Edward Jenner Museum, avoiding a dangerous, busy and narrow street which deters many from leaving the Castle environs. This project could therefore have a good impact on the town’s economy as well as saving an important part of its heritage.
