Repair Project for Melrose Road Scout Hut, 1st Mersea Island Scout Group, Colchester

This is a project to repair the roof and other environmental improvements at 1st Mersea Island Scout Group. The building is a converted former fire station building. The project entails replacing the existing tiles as these are too heavy for the structure and need replacing. In addition the flat roof adjoining the front and back hall needs refelting, the front hall roof skylight needs removing, and in order to provide natural light in the hall new windows to be constructed. The project also includes the provision of insulation to improve thermal efficiency of the building.
