Repairs & Rehanging of Bells. Resiting clock movement

To replace the bearings, headstocks and rollers of all 6 bells. To repair by welding damage to the crowns of 3rd and tenor and chipping to the rim of tenor. To replace the existing clappers with foreshortened flights with clappers of conventional design and to renew their pivots. To facilitate the removal of the bells from the tower for this work it will be necessary to move the clock movement. Once this has been done it will benefit the ringers of the 4th and 5th bells if it is resited in the NE corner of the tower and the drive to the clock face modified to suit. The fitting of automatic winding gear will mean it will take up less room and make the fitting of an extra sound deadening layer under the bells easier. If finances permit and permission can be obtained, to weld worn areas on the sound bows of the 5 ancient bells where the clappers have struck them in past years.
