Repairs to South Aisle Window, Parochial Church Council Tormarton, South Glos

This is a project to repair the south aisle window at St Mary Magdalene Church in Tormarton. It involves the cutting out of the worst areas of failing stonework and piecing in with new stone, these being two sections of inner moulding adjacent to the outer arch, the mullion nosing to the upper ‘Y’ tracery, the mullion nosing to the right hand tracery and adjacent section of inner arch moulding, two sections of arch moulding to the tops of the left hand, and centre window arches beneath the tracery. The work will also entail descaling of all loose and friable stonework and raking out of all lose pointing around the glazed sections within the tracery and the three main windows and repointing in lime mortar.
