Repairs to the ruins of the Old Bishop’s Palace, Llandaff, Cardiff

To carry out urgent repairs and maintenance to the Scheduled Ancient Monument/Grade I Listed Old Bishops Palace (13th Century).

The grounds within the castle walls form attractive, sheltered, public gardens/open space within the historic core of Llandaff Conservation Area of Cardiff.

Unstable wall structures and concerns for public safety have necessitated the installation of some temporary fencing which prevent public access. Access restrictions are likely to be increased if works to secure loose masonry and remove/prevent invasive plant growth are not carried out.

The wider project involves the completion and adoption of a Conservation Management Plan originally drafted in 2000.
