Projects / Replacement and Improvement of Heat Distribution System

Replacement and Improvement of Heat Distribution System

The modernisation of a very old heat distribution system by replacing the pump and all the pipework, refurbishing the existing radiators, installing additional radiators, repairing the trench in the floor running the length of the nave of the church, installing finned pipework in trenches the length of the nave, in the sanctuary and under the choir stalls and installing a new temperature control system. This will achieve significant fuel savings as a result of a substantial increase in the convective surface area and enhanced responsive characteristics. This follows the removal in 2006 of the very old oil fired heating system which was condemned in 2006 and replaced by a gas fired system. The aim of the project is to protect the building, which has a grade 2 listing and was built in 1855, with a system which heats the church more effectively and more economically.
