Replacement LED Floodlights, Earls Colne Tennis Club, Colchester

This project is for the replacement of twelve floodlights with energy efficient LED fittings, retaining and adapting existing columns at Earls Colne Tennis Club.

The club needs to replace the 40 year old halogen lights with new LED floodlights which will be designed to comply with current LTA standards, providing more effective light, reduce energy usage and cut emissions.

The new LED lights will provide reliable, good quality lighting for all members and for night time matches. The club operates evening coaching sessions, league matches and social events throughout the year and this will provide a long term solution and economic benefit to increase usage and attract new members to the club from the surrounding population of 10-15,000.

The club has around 100 members and works with Tennislessons4U who provide all aspects of tennis coaching and multi-sport activities from age of three years to senior citizens and provides multi-sport activities during school term breaks. The new lighting will encourage members to play later, as the club does not charge for the use of the lights and the quarterly bills are paid by the club’s account. Courts are booked online and are open to all.
