Projects / Replacement of Large Victorian Windows

Replacement of Large Victorian Windows

In 1998 a grant was secured from The Charities Lottery fund to replace 89 of the original Victorian windows with UPVC double glazed units. The three largest windows were too large to replace and had to be omitted from the project. However, greatly improved systems are now available and these windows can be replaced whilst still retaining the appearance of the Victorian architecture. The benefits are that the building will be more eneergy efficient and draught proof as well as low maintenance. Also the restored decor of the main hall will greatly extend its use as a venue.
