Replacement of Lower Hide at RSPB Leighton Moss

Lower Hide is 32 years old and needs to be urgently replaced. Many external and internal elements of the hide have deteriorated, and it does not offer a positive visitor experience, and there will be ongoing health & safety issues going forward.

While it’s popular with bird watchers, photographers and walkers, we want to make it appeal to a more diverse audience, increasing accessibility, considering EDI.

The replacement will retain a similar footprint and structure, however it will be more robust to ensure longevity and resilience against flooding.
