Replacement of Old Central Heating

Our building is 100 years old and much of the heating system is original, old and inefficient, requiring a manual start-up 4 to 5 hours from cold to take the chill off the building, prior to the arrival of cadets and other users. Our heating bill last year was approaching £5,000. We have obtained quotations to replace the complete system to include modern zone controls and programmer and make good, together with adequate insulation as necessary. The selected quotation is not the cheapest but is the safest and the most efficient system, utilising fan convector heaters in conjunction with de-stratification fans in the high ceiling of the main hall. It is estimated that this area alone will save approximately 25% of its fuel running costs . The new heating system will be zoned so that only the areas in use will be heated, rather than the whole building. The overall project will reduce our carbon footprint.
