Replacing the ‘Walking Snake’ Beacon Fell

The 50mtr ‘Walking Snake’ wooden sculpture at Beacon Fell Country Park nr Preston has been a well loved and used piece of interactive art for 20 years by all ages, visitors and school groups. The snake is now showing signs of serious decay and only the head remains. The project will replace the wooden snake with local stone and have a large carved stone head. The ‘Friends of’ group and community will be undertaking some of the drystone walling works to create the snake as well as some woodland management works in the area around the snake sculpture.
