The application is funding for the manufacture and purchase of; 1. Howarth Vents have 2 roles: a) Providing ventilation of underground structures within the fort, keeping humidity low so preserving the structure and preventing decay and deterioration of these structures; b) Maintaining the integrity of the collection housed there. 2. Slate is required to restore the soldier's latrines, replacing splashbacks, dividers, partitions and roofing which have previously been destroyed by vandalisms. 3. The windows also preserve the structure, preventing water penetration and so maintaining low humidity and preserving the semi-subterranean casemates and preventing decay and deterioration of the structure. The casemate window openings and currently covered with plastic sheeting.
