Restoration of Ancient Treswell Wood

This project aims to provide a number of biodiversity improvements at Treswell Wood, while encouraging people from the local community to enjoy this wonderful natural resource. The Wildlife Trust currently works with a number of woodland craftsmen to develop a 'coppice' regime at Treswell Wood, in order to maintain a diverse range of habitats. However, this regime is limited, with access to certain areas impeded. We wish to create a 100m ride from recycled stone that will allow woodland craftsman better access in order to expand the coppicing regime. Additional work will include widening of rides; hedge laying; and invertebrate survey; and roofing of an old barn structure to be unsed in future education events
