Projects / Restoration of Brakeybank Meadow

Restoration of Brakeybank Meadow

Brakeybank Meadow will be restored through scrub removal, scraping, pond recreation and mowing. This project will increase the size and quality of the lowland meadow and enable long-term sustainable management of this priority UKBAP habitat, producing a florally diverse mown meadow adjacent to mature oak and diverse woodland. This will benefit many important plant and invertebrate species within the meadow, as well as priority birds such as spotted flycatcher and nightingale in the surrounding woodland.
