Projects / Restoration of Canal at Hayes Knoll Lock

Restoration of Canal at Hayes Knoll Lock

As part of the programme to re-open the North Wilts Canal and the Wilts & Berks Canal as a public amenity, the lock at Hayes Knoll near Cricklade has to be restored. The work will be carried out by volunteers.

An aqueduct in the immediate vicinity has already been restored by a team of local volunteers and work is under way elsewhere on the North Wilts Canal, by teams of volunteers and also by civil engineering contractors on a project led by Swindon Borough Council.
