Projects / Restoration of Canal - Lock 2, Lyneham

Restoration of Canal - Lock 2, Lyneham

As part of a programme to re-open the Wilts & Berks Canal as a public amenity and also for navigation, the reconstruction is necessary of Lock 2 near Tockenham, Lyneham, Wilts. Previous projects on this flight of locks have been completed, with LCF assistance. Our objective is to restore this lock chamber including the addition of a new tail-bridge. This new bridge will enable a roadway, that crosses the restoration site, to be diverted around the end of the lock. (The construction of the new sections of roadway will be a separate project, not funded by LCF).
