Restoration of Cradley St Peter’s Church Yard, Cradley Ex Servicemen’s Association, Halesowen, West Midlands

This project involves the restoration of parts of the graveyard at St Mary’s Church in Cradley.

At present the World War One and Two military gravestones are very overgrown and almost inaccessible. The areas around the gravestones and the paths leading to them need to be cleared of undergrowth. This will enable local schools to take children on history visits and also to walk the paths as nature trails. The group would like to have education packs produced to enable children and the wider visitor to get an in depth understanding of the military and elements of plants and wildlife to be found in the church yard. This would also open up the area to other visitors, both local and international. Interactive information on the website would add to the experience and it will also be possible to download the education packs.
