Restoration of Historic Monuments

The project is to repair, clean and conserve 6 medieval tomb monuments. The medieval tombs comprise two 14th century knights’ effigies in the nave aisles and four 16th century double effigy tombs in the chancel to members of the Digby family. They are considered exceptionally fine examples of their types which preserve rare original polychromy.

Funds awarded would be spent on costs associated with engaging a fully accredited and specialist conservator of monuments to carry out necessary repair, restoration, cleaning and conservation work. The specific conservation requirements of each monument vary.
