Restoration of Mona House, Morecambe (Phase 1)

Mona House is an early 19th century building near the centre of Poulton-le-Sands, the village that later developed to become the town of Morecambe. It is listed Grade 2 and lies in a Conservation Area. The works proposed will form the first phase of a programme of repairs and improvements to secure continued community use as an arts centre. Grant aid has been approved from the Morecambe Townscape Heritage Initiative Scheme funded by the HLF and Lancaster City Council.

The building lies in a prominent position and the Heritage Trust for the North West intends the work to be an example of good conservation practice. The use of appropriate materials and high standards of craftsmanship and care in carrying out the work will therefore be required
