Projects / Restoration of platform ramps at Riverside Station

Restoration of platform ramps at Riverside Station

The existing platform ramps at each end of the Riverside platform have become dangerous, with the retaining walls now leaning towards the railway track and in danger of collapse. These ramps are intended for the use of the railway’s staff, volunteers and passengers as well as users of the adjoining Railway Path, enabling them to get onto the platform to await trains or use the seating that is provided there. To employ local capable building contractors to remove the existing ramp retaining walls, install new foundations and then build new retaining walls. The old platform edging slabs to be restored to their original positions and new slabbing installed to replace the old deteriorating surface
