Restoration of Richard Jefferies Museum’s Grounds and Out-buildings

Restore the dairy, barn and pigsties in order to house old agricultural equipment and demonstrate old countryside crafts. Restore the fences, walls, paths and gates. Replace the water pump/well. Replant the orchard with old English fruit tree varieties, and plant up the gardens with herbs, shrubs, bulbs and plants that featured in Jefferies’ writing. Add sundial. Replace section of old cow-shed. Rebuild small circular summerhouse and hayrick barn. Provide seating areas. Restore stone “thunder-box”. Produce leaflets, information boards and appropriate eduation material to add value to the areas peoposed for restoration, to the Museum and to Jefferies literary heritage
