Restoring Adwick Washlands

The project will re-establish 20 hectares of floodplain grazing-marsh at Adwick washlands, a newly acquired site in the Dearne Valley. Engineering and earthworks will subtly transform the existing arable landscape, the water table will be raised and watercourses diverted to produce a significant wetland habitat that will complement the existing string of ecologically important washlands between Doncaster and Barnsley.
