Restoring and Creating Open Water Habitat in Gloucestershire’s Severn Vale

The aim of the Project is to create more open water habitat within the lowland wet grassland of the Severn Vale increasing the overall diversity of wetland habitats within the landscape. The main activity will be the creation and restoration of scrapes and ponds, to create large areas of open standing water throughout the year, and the re-profiling of ditches to increase their surface area, diversify their structure and improve their quality. The project will operate for 5 years and activity will be targeted within the Vale’s Strategic Nature Areas (SNAs)
