Restoring Faxfleet Pond Nature Reserve

To undertake vital restoration work to Faxfleet Pond to maintain this important wetland habitat in favourable condition and thus support rare and threatened wildlife, primarily bitterns (UK BAP species), water voles other reedbed species. We attach particular importance to maintaining a secure and safe breeding site for bitterns as part of a larger wetland complex, including Blacktoft Sands. The project involves managing the encroaching vegetation, which urgently needs to be controlled. This is a highly specialised job, requiring contractors using a specialist floating mower.
