Restoring Fen at Rye Meads Nature Reserve

This project proposes to carry out a programme of habitat management work that will enable the long-term and sustainable conservation of the site. The aims include: Providing a sustainable method for managing the site, by fencing off an area for grazing of fenland, to prevent scrub encroachment and succession. Improve levels of biodiversity and species richness, through the maintenance of the diverse fen habitat. Increase levels of visitor enjoyment, through the enhanced management of the site and improved visability through reedbeds.
